The Dollar Loan Center (TDLC) in Henderson, Nevada, opened in 2022 with an overhead and additional LED display from Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota. The installation of 11 LED screens took place before the venue opened in March this year and was activated to inform and entertain fans at live events, including AHL Henderson Silver Knights games – affiliated with the Vegas Golden Knights – and the Indoor Football League. Vegas Knight Hawks.
“The brilliant Daktronics LED screens help create the gaming atmosphere at Dollar Loan Center that we hoped for when we envisioned the arena,” said Kerry Bubolz, President of the Vegas Golden Knights. “Daktronics executed some of the details that make The Dollar Loan Center unique and met our schedule and budget at a time when that can be a challenge.”
To engage fans during the live event, a central four-sided display system was installed inside the arena. Each of these four main video screens are approximately 11.5 feet high by 20 feet wide, and each features 3.9 millimeter pixel spacing for high-resolution images.
Each center-hanging screen is capable of variable content zoning allowing them to display one large image or multiple live video zones, instant replays, up-to-the-minute stats, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.
“The LED technology installed at the Dollar Loan Center is sure to captivate fans and complement the live event experience,” said Rusty Lenners, Daktronics Sales Representative. “The entire Vegas Golden Knights staff, especially Kerry Bubolz, Gabe Mirabelli and Andrew Abrams, have been fantastic who we have worked with at every stage of the project. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the team and their affiliates to deliver this amazing installation that will entertain audiences for years to come.
Creating two “peaks” at the end of the arena are four ribbon displays that extend outward from the end wall, two displays meeting in a triangle formation at two separate locations. These screens are just over 3 feet tall by over 21 feet wide. Surrounding the fan lights are two additional ribbon displays mounted on the seat dash. One screen is 2.5 feet tall by 679 feet wide while the other is 2.5 feet tall by over 85 feet wide. These six screens feature 10 millimeter pixel spacings to provide additional content to the main screens and provide the ability to highlight partners throughout events.
To welcome fans to the venue, an outdoor marquee has also been set up at the TDLC. This display features 6-millimeter pixel spacing and measures nearly 11 feet high by over 19 feet wide. It can display information about upcoming events as well as partnerships and other special messages as people pass by. This screen is also capable of showing live game action.
In addition to the equipment installation, TDLC will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
